The start of something beautiful!

So, since I can't seem to find a really good spot for SACD reviews or advice on what to buy. I'll just recommend some things I've found. These next two happen to be my newest purchases and man, they kick ass. Well sonically anyway. You might not be a jazz fan, but if you listen to this first recording at least you'll feel like the band is in the room with you.
Art Pepper - Gettin' Together!
Damn, this thing sounds good. Sounds like a stand up bass is actually in the room! Drums sound like drums, not the bullshit I normally hear from jazz recordings. Everything is crisp and clear, soundstage is broad, horns don't sound bright and there's some work being done by the sub. Beautiful recording. Oh yeah the music is great too!
And for you classic rock fans:
Doobie Brothers - Toulouse Street
The Doobies are tough for me. I'm definitely a fan of their greatest hits for a reason. Most of the other stuff takes some time to get used to. But this thing just sounds wonderful. First track is Listen to the Music, 10 stars (that's 5 stars x 2 for you numbnuts that can't multiply). Yes it sounds that good. Favorite cut is Jesus is Just Alright With Me. There's great attention to detail and the recording never gets muddy like most FM radio-cut albums from the 70's are apt to do.
Well that's it for now, so go out and buy these. Only if you have an SACD player though.
